KJR foundation pledges to fight for girl child empowerment on National Girl Child Day

It is  a known fact that central government has decided to celebrate National Girl Child Day (NGCD) on January 24 every year. The reason behind holding the day is to put a check on the discrimination being shown against the girls by the entire society in the country despite the fact that people of the country call it as Mother India and worship it in public functions.

According to a survey conducted by Unicef (United Nations Children’s Fund), it is found that 41 percent of girls below the age of 19 years are being married off by their parents in India even before they reach the marriageable age of 18 years. More shockingly, of the total married minor girls 15.47 percent are being married  off even before they reach 15 years of age in India. The survey further stated that family problems especially financial constraints of the parents and societal compulsions are forcing them to marry off their girl children before they major. The criminal practice is going on in an unabated manner in the country despite several judgements of the apex court of the country, Supreme Court of India (SC) to jail the parents of the minor brides.  The survey further reveals that of the three girl child marriage victims, one is from India.  Besides this prohibited practice, the country is also witnessing female feticides in the country for a long time. The survey revealed that     over 5 lakh girls children are being killed by way of abortions even before their birth by their parents. The strict prohibition on sex determination is not able to stop the parents from killing girl children in their wombs thanks to the callous attitude of the powers that be.  Keeping these grave injustices in mind, the central government has come up with Beti Bachao-Beti Padao scheme. The scheme was launched by none other than the Prime Minister of the country Narendra Modi. There is  a need to implement the scheme in a strict manner. The governments of various states have also come up with various girl child welfare schemes like Kalyana Lakshmi to put a check on  girl child marriages.

KJR foundation ahead of others in promoting women empowerment

The KJR foundation set up by prominent industrialist from Rayalaseema region Mr. KJ Reddy has also been striving to create awareness among the general public about the importance of the girl child. It is also organizing several social programmes to highlight the importance of women empowerment in the country. A firm believer of women empowerment Mr. KJ Reddy is also planning to organize programs ion issues like girl child education, nutrition, gender justice and financial aid to the girls. He also organized free health camps and clinics for the girls of Rayalaseema region. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Reddy said that they would hold many social awareness programs to give a fillip to the concept of women empowerment. As part of his ambitious plans, he has announced to provide jobs to the women in the industries being set up by his group companies. Noting that the country is witnessing a sharp decline in male female sex ratio, Mr. Reddy said that his foundation would work on abolition social menaces like child marriages, female feticides in the Raylaseema region. Reddy said that the Rayalaseema region can be rapidly developed only when the girls from the region are economically and socially empowered by everybody.

Solar Projects are about to complete in the Seema Region

There is no more need to wait of Unemployed youth from Rayalaseema for the commission of solar power projects:The wait of the hundreds and thousands of unemployed youth from Rayalaseema region to secure jobs in the proposed solar power projects seems to be ending with in few months, after the announcement by Andhra Pradesh State Government two years ago.

It was in the year 2014, the State Government had announced that it would set up three solar power projects in the Rayalaseema region of the State. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was also signed between the Union Ministry of Power, National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) and the State Government for the commissioning of the solar projects. The three solar power projects were mooted by the state government as part of its visionary scheme ‘Power For All.’ The scheme was introduced from October 2,2014. The state Cabinet met under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister of the state Nara Chandrababu Naidu and gave its approval for the establishment of the solar power projects to expedite them and complete them in a time bound manner. As part of agreement, the NTPC was given the opportunity to set up a 1,000 MW solar power plant at Kadiri in Anantapur district with an investment of Rs. 7,000 crore. The state government had also allotted 5,500 acres of land for this project. NVVNL NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Ltd) was entrusted with the responsibility of setting up the second solar power project at Panyam in Kurnool district and a 500-MW third solar power plant at Jammalamadugu in Kadapa district. The state government had set aside 5000 acres of land for the 1000 MW solar power project and 3,000 acres of land for the 500 MW solar project. However, the works related to the projects seems to be going on good pace and this sending the happy message to unemployed youth into getting the jobs for thier bright future. For instance, the NTPC, which took up the construction of the Solar power project at Kadiri was able to complete only 75 percent of the total project envisaged so far. The works related to the remaining 25 percent of the project is at various stages of completion. According to the officials of the state government the commissioning of the projects, there is no more delay for the completion of the projects and in handing over the works to competitive firms. “ We are able to complete the first unit of 250 MW capacity at the Kadiri’s Solar plant so far. The works related to the remaining 750 MW project is at different stages of completion. We are expecting to complete the works by before the first quarter of the next year,” said an official while responding on the issue of inordinate delays in the completion of the solar projects. Similar is the fate of the other solar power projects conceived to be constructed in Kurnool and Kadapa districts. The inordinate delays caused in the completion of the projects have become a cause of happy for the unemployed youth. “ All I request the State Government is to expedite the power projects and complete them in a time bound manner so that we can get suitable jobs in the power projects. We are very confident that the State Government will understand our concerns and complete them as soon as possible and provide us with source of livelihood,” said an unemployed from the area in an emotional voice. The three solar power projects were envisaged to create direct and indirect employment opportunities to hundreds of the unemployed youth.

Hopes on Rayalaseema Development -With Electronic Park

The Rayalaseema region, comprising four districts — Kurnool, Kadapa, Anantapur and Chittoor—once upon a time called as ‘’Rathanala Seema’’ when Sri Krishna Devaraya ruled it, but now — finds itself at a crossroads with underdevelopment and unemployment.

The developmental activities are not going in the right pace in Seema, the new State which began its journey with a deficit in its finances and without a capital of its own.The priority is given to the Krishna and Godavari delta regions in the process of development —be it in the setting up of the new capital or the push given for accelerated development of infrastructure and industry in the Capital. But now few developmental activities are going on in the Seema Region and one among them is Electronics Park, that is recently laid a foundation by Chandrababu Naidu. This, Elcina Raaga Mayuri Electronics Park will be developed at Chilamathur village in Anantapur district in the Rayalaseema region of the state by end of the year 2017. Electronics Manufacturing Clusters: This Project is initiated by KJR Group, and the Electronics Manufacturing Clusters are in Partnership with ELCINA. Market & Growth Drivers There is good potential for Electronics Manufacturing Clusters in the Rayalaseema region, that already has announced implementation of several such projects. There are many benefits through Raaga Mayuri Food Park and Electronics Manufacturing Clusters to Rayalaseema: KJR Group is all set to begin eight segments that will make electronic components for defence and aerospace sector, taken up in collaboration with Electronic Industries Association of India (ELCINA). The Park will come up on a 50-acre site on the National Highway close to Bengaluru and will be the largest electronics manufacturing cluster in the country. The Electronics Park will have high-rise buildings of 30 to 35 floors each and provide employment to thousands of people. The state government will create infrastructure like roads, power and water supply and also establish a training centre (as stated by an official release). Electronic Manufacturing clusters will provide employment to 25,000 to 30,000 people in Rayalaseema region. The poverty is expected to be eradicated in Rayalaseema region in the near future and somehow it will be done with the introduction of Electronics Manufacturing Clusters and the Rayalseema region might see an upgraded and sophisticated technology. The people of Seema are eagerly waiting for the development of their region to the next level. And well, a wide range of ambitious projects will be launched across Rayalaseema region in the future- and this is widely predicted to gain further traction in the coming years.

RayalaSeema is running towards the Development…!!!

There is a high level of interest among Seema people as there are few developmental activities are running in high pace in Rayalaseema. Though Seema has given rise to many political leaders, till 2016 several projects have remained non-starters, particularly the industries, National level Institutions and irrigation projects

But now there is specific change in development of Rayalaseema region which was facing the major issue with unemployment before bifurcation, after the bifurcation of prior Andhra Pradesh, the Rayalaseema region close to a “2”year-and-a-half year, now RayalaSeema is running towards the enormous Development…!!! There is a vast unhappiness which is visible among the political class as well as the general people as they feel isolated from the developmental activities in the new State which started its journey with a shortfall in its finances and without a capital of its own.But now the government is showing a Special interest in areas like Kurnool, Anantapur, Kadapa and Chittor which are considered as continual drought-prone districts with all declared as drought hit for the fifth year in succession. In the process of development — in the process of setting up the new capital or the push given for accelerated development of infrastructure and industry, the government is also showing it's high interest areas like Kurnool, Anantapur, Kadapa. Promises on the setting up of institutions of national repute were made at the time of bifurcation with the Chief Minister’s home turf, Chittoor, which managed to get work started on some institutions, like the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), and remaining institutions are under process fro kurnool, kadapa, anantapur. The Seema region has seen a major institute except for a central university coming up at Anantapur. There were hopes of Kurnool being converted into an industrial hub, but all that the district got was an IIT while Kadapa, which hoped of housing the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is under the process. Other institutions like a petroleum university, a tribal university and industrial corridors including those that will house the prestigious petrochemical industry are still to come. Coupled with this is the emphasis on the construction of the new capital planned as a world-class economic hub —Now Rayalaseema is expecting a sense of ownership and a Dynamic leader to the Rayalaseema region on the new capital. And there is happy news with the Raaga Mayuri Electronics Park which is launched and will be starting by middle of the year 2017, which will generate employment to more than 20,000 people.
