AP issues asks officials to distribute the loans before March
There is a good news for the women members of Dwacra Self Help Groups (SHGs) from Andhra Pradesh. The state government has decided to provide Rs.11,000 crore interest free of loans to all the group members. The Chief Minister of the state Mr. Nara Chandrababu Naidu has issued orders to concerned officials of the state. He also asked them to complete the loan disbursement process before the end of ongong March month. He issued these orders while holding a reviewing meetin on the performance of the SHGs in the state. Speaking on the occasion, the CM said that the spirit of the SHGs were diluted during the Congress Party rule in the erstwhile AP state. He said he was trying to bring back the rich glory of the SHGs by strengthening them with the sole objective of achieving women empowerment in the state. He asked the officials that the loans being disbursed by them to the SHGs should help them in earning more income. He wanted the officials to take up the responsibility of ensuring the proper utilization of the loans disbursed. He said that the objective of the state government was to ensure a minimum income of Rs.10,000 for every family of the SHG member. Mr. Naidu asked the officials to transform the Sthree Nidhi scheme into a bank in the days to come. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SERP (Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty) Mr. Krishna Mohan told the CM that they had disbursed Rs.682 crore loans out of the targeted Rs.1100 crore. He also told the CM that they had disbursed Rs.4971 crore under Pasupu Kumkuma scheme.
