Officials set up 336 polling stations in Kadpaa, Kurnool, Anantapur districts

Poll arrangements for the upcoming elections in West Rayalaseema graduate MLC seat consisting of Kadapa, Kurnool and Anantapur districts have gained momentum in the state. The officials of election commission have set up 336 polling stations in all the three districts of the state for the convenience of the graduate MLC seat voters. The officials have also set up 171 polling stations for the West Rayalaseema teachers’ MLC constituency in the three districts of the state. A total of 2, 49,582 voters from the graduates’ Seat will cast their votes in the upcoming elections. The Returning Officer (RO) of these elections and Anantapur District Collector Kona Sasshidhar released the details of the arrangements being made for the upcoming elections.

The total number of voters in the hotly contested elections for the graduate MLC seat has dropped significantly in these elections. Similar is the status of teachers’ MLC seat. According to the official figures, a total number of voters in the graduate MLC seat, the total number of voters has come down by 3933 votes while it has come down by 129 votes in the teachers’ MLC seat thanks to the revision of voters’ list by the election commission. The total number of votes in the graduate MLC seat stood at 2, 53,515 votes and 20,644 in the teachers MLC seat before the revision. Of the revised, 2, 49,582 voters from the graduate MLC seat, 1, 72,962 are men and 76,611 are women voters. The list also has nine other voters. Of the total 20,515 voters from the teachers MLC seat, 13,294 are men and 7,220 are women voters. The list also has one other category voter.
